I love marmalade. They have it at my work, and I like to eat it on bread. I think they home-make their own marmalade at Crumb Brothers, which is why it's different and GOOD. The marmalade of my past hasn't been so delightful.
That sounds like something to try. I haven't ever liked marmalade either. Do you like your job (or just the breads and marmalade?). You need to update us on your jobs.
Oh, sorry Sharlee! I just can't imagine anyone is really that interested in my job-life.
Both of my jobs have great things about them; I like working part-time jobs like students do, but I'm not a student anymore, so I feel like I'm in the wrong place. I'm quitting at Angie's, unless I un-quit. There are some people there who have been nasty to me, and I just don't love the job enough to be strong through it all.
As for marmalade: I tried the packaged stuff at Angie's, and it's wretched, even on fresh rolls! The stuff at Crumb Brothers is so lovely, I would eat it on just about every slice of bread!
The blog is the place where you ought to tell about your work life and other aspects of your life - so that we don't have to look like we're being nosey even though we are!
I'll have to try the marmalade at Crumb Brothers sometime. I remember we had some marmalade in the fridge when I was about 10 or 11, and it was so horrid; right up there with fruitcake on the gross-o-meter. I couldn't figure out why people would waste money on wicked stuff like that! Even now it evokes a strong emotion in me, as you can tell!! Nice to know that there's a palatable recipe out there!
For reals -- there's no marmalade that's good, EXCEPT at Crumb Brothers. That's a pretty strong statement (today there was a super old man who got some sourdough bread there and said it was "the best sourdough bread in the whole world." I think it's gross, but I don't like sourdough. Anyway, he for sure had to have had more experience in the world with sourdough than I have with marmalade).
I don't think you're being nosey; the thing is that I don't think my life is all that exciting, and if OTHER people knew how uninteresting my life is, it might make them cry.
